Agra: PVR INOX launched its first multiplex in Agra, marking its entry into the city with a four-screen property under the franchise-owned company-operated (FOCO) model, the company said on Saturday.Located at Anjana Central on MG Road, the multiplex has a total seating capacity of 503, including 89 recliners, and opened with a screening of Dhurandhar: The Revenge . The property is equipped with RGB laser projection , Dolby 7.1 sound and next-generation 3D technology, aimed at offering a premium moviegoing experience. The launch comes as the country’s largest cinema exhibitor looks to expand into emerging urban markets, betting on rising demand for experience-led entertainment beyond metro cities.Chief Executive Officer Pramod Arora said the move aligns with the company’s strategy to combine local partnerships with its exhibition capabilities under the FOCO model , while contributing to local economic growth and job creation.Beyond catering to residents, the company said the multiplex is expected to address a gap in Agra’s evening entertainment offerings for tourists visiting the Taj Mahal, encouraging longer stays and boosting local businesses. With this addition, PVR INOX now operates 147 screens across 29 properties in Uttar Pradesh and 483 screens across North India, taking its overall footprint to 1,799 screens across 359 properties in India and Sri Lanka.
