Welcome to Sportstar’s live coverage of the IPL 2026 encounter between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, taking place in Bengaluru.
The defending champion returns to its home ground, ten months after the unfortunate incident during the title celebrations, which resulted in the death of 11 fans. The stadium received approval from the State government just days ahead of the contest. RCB has kept aside seven seats in the stand in memory of the deceased.
The visitor will be helmed by Ishan Kishan, with regular skipper Pat Cummins still a couple of weeks away from full bowling fitness. Englishman David Payne has replaced Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards due to injury.
RCB, too, will be without the services of Josh Hazlewood, who spearheaded its title-winning campaign, for a few games. Without the Aussie quick and Yash Dayal, the bowling wears a frail look.
SRH also has a decision to make regarding its uncapped Indian players: R. Smaran, Harsh Dubey, and Aniket Verma. Only two out of the three could have a place in the playing XI.
