The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) announced the merit list for the Class 10 (Matric) Examination 2026 on Sunday, with students from different districts showing an impressive performance. The results have been announced at an official press conference held at the state capital.Pushpanjali Kumari from Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya, Jamui, and Sabreen Praween from Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Vaishali, jointly bagged the first position in the state. Both the students have achieved 98.4 percent marks by securing 492 out of 500 marks, becoming the highest scorers in the current year’s examination.The list reflects the high competition among the students, as the top-performing students managed to achieve between 486 and 492 marks. Some students share the same rank due to their identical marks, reflecting the narrow gap between the ranks.Continuing the trend over the last few years, girls have dominated the top positions in the merit list.The joint toppers are girls, and a large number of girls in the top positions highlight their performance.Students from Jamui, Vaishali, Begusari, Buxar, Samastipur, Banka, Purnea, and Bhojpur districts feature in the top 10 positions. This reflects the geographical spread of academic excellence in Bihar.Before declaring the results, the board conducted interviews and verification of the potential toppers. Students were examined in terms of subject knowledge and other aspects to ensure authenticity, which reflects the credibility of the merit list.With the announcement of the merit list, students have achieved a milestone in their academic career, crediting their hard work and dedication. The students who have achieved success in the results will now move to the next phase of their academic career, with admissions to Class 11 likely to start in early April.
