Patna High Court Chief Justice, Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo on Monday (March 30, 2026) inaugurated the “extended facilities of State dispensary” located inside the high court premises.
The facilities that will be available at the dispensary after the inauguration include free X-ray, ECG, eye check-up, physiotherapy, drug counters, official sources said.
Justice Sahoo inaugurated these facilities after cutting the ribbon at a ceremony held at the premises in the presence of Justice Sudhir Kumar Singh, Justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, Justice Mohit Kumar Shah and other high court Judges, Health Department’s Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, high court officials, lawyers, staff and others.
Chief Justice inspected X-Ray centre, Physiotherapy centre, drug distribution centre and the dispensary where both general medical officer and specialised doctors will see the patients as per the roster, official sources said adding that a person can check the availability of medicines at the centre by scanning the QR code.
As per the roster, medical officer, skin specialist, paediatrician and homoeopathy doctors will be available at the dispensary every day, while the specialist doctors like Gynaecologist will sit in the dispensary on Monday, Physician on Tuesday, Orthopaedic Surgeon on Wednesday, Cardiologist on Thursday and Ophthalmologist on Friday.
The lawyers’ bodies expressed happiness at the inauguration of the extended facilities at the premises. Lawyers from Advocates Association and Lawyers Association were also present in large numbers on the occasion.
Asked who can avail the facilities at the dispensary, Advocates Association President Shailendra Kumar Singh said that the facilities will be available for high court Judges, its officials, staff and lawyers.
“We are happy that the facilities at the dispensary have been extended. Earlier, there used to be a normal testing of Blood Pressure and a doctor used to sit at the dispensary, but now specialised treatment for cardiology, orthopaedics, eye, general health problem will be available here,” said Mr. Singh who was accompanied by his Vice President and his namesake Shailendra Kumar Singh.
Lawyers Association General Secretary Rajeev Kumar Singh and its Joint Secretary Shailendra Kumar Singh welcomed the step and said that “now, X-ray machine has been installed, apart from a physiotherapy centre, free medicine will be distributed, cardio testing can be done apart from getting treated by specialised doctors who will be available as per roster.
