The Lok Sabha was adjourned because of protests by Opposition members over the proposed amendments to the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act. Congress and other MPs were protesting vociferously against the Bill.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that though the Bill was listed, it would not be taken up for consideration and passing. He accused the Opposition of misleading Kerala and the country because of the Assembly elections in the State.
