The 8th Pay Commission has extended the deadline to submit responses to its 18-point questionnaire to March 31, 2026. The 8th CPC questionnaire that covers issues such as pay, pension and allowance revisions and employment conditions is open to feedback for central government employees , pensioners, unions and other stakeholders.The questionnaire is posted on the official website of the 8th CPC (https://8cpc.gov.in/). The government launched the website in February 2026 and posted 18 questions to receive online feedback from various stakeholders.The last date to submit the responses to 8thCPC questions has been extended to March 31, 2026, from the earlier deadline of March 16, 2026.Also read: 8th Pay Commission implementation date: Employee body AITUC wants salary, pension & other allowance revisions from this date As per a message on the 8th CPC official website, “The last date for the submission of responses to the 8th CPC questionnaire has been extended up to March 31, 2026).”Responses are invited from ministries, departments, state/UTs, employees of government, employees of Union Territories, judicial officers, officers/employees of courts, members of regulatory bodies, associations or unions of serving or retired employees, pensioners, researchers, academicians and individuals.Composition of the 8th CPCThe commission is headed by:* Chairperson: Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai* Member (Part-time): Prof. Pulak Ghosh* Member secretary: Pankaj JainThe 8th Pay Commission has started functioning after its office was established in the Capital last month. The 8th CPC began its work following the announcement of the terms of reference (ToR) in November 2025. The commission has been given 18 months of time to submit its report of recommendations. However, there remains some uncertainty regarding the timeline for the implementation of these recommendations.In its Terms of Reference (ToR), the 8th Pay Commission says its work is to examine and recommend changes that are desirable in the emoluments including pay, allowances and other facilities/ benefits, in cash or kind, having regard to rationalisation, contemporary functional requirements and the specialised needs of various departments, agencies and services in respect of following categories of employees: Central government employees — industrial and non-industrial;(ii) Personnel belonging to All India Services;(iii) Personnel belonging to Defence Forces;(iv) Personnel of Union Territories;(v) Officers and employees of Indian Audit and Accounts Department;(vi) Members of the regulatory bodies (excluding the RBI) set up under the Acts of Parliament;(vii) Officers and employees of the Supreme Court;(viii) Officers and employees of High Courts whose expenditure is borne by the Union Territories; and(ix) Judicial officers of the subordinate courts in the Union Territories
