3-page question papers, tougher law: Maharashtra board plans major reforms for class 10, 12 exams

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is planning major reforms for class 10 and 12 examinations. The board has decided to restructure question papers, reducing their length from 10 to 11 pages to 3 pages, to save printing costs and reduce student stress. The new format will also include clearer display of marks, proper sequencing of questions, and simplified formatting. Additionally, the board is pushing for amendments to existing laws to bring answer sheet-related malpractices under criminal offences.
