Raghav Chadha on Indian stock market Citing an erosion of ₹48 lakh crore in Indian stock market wealth since the start of the war in West Asia, AAP MP Raghav Chadha on March 24 urged the government to extend relief to retail investors.
Speaking during a discussion on the Appropriation Bill (No. 2) in the Rajya Sabha, Chadha said the West Asia conflict is not "our war", but its impact has been felt in Indian markets.
"It is a Black Swan event because it has been triggered suddenly, externally and it is unrelated to the underlying Indian economic fundamentals," Chadha said.
He noted that global financial markets are witnessing heightened volatility due to the ongoing escalation in West Asia, with Indian markets also experiencing a sharp erosion of investor wealth.
