US-Israeli srikes targeting a key petrochemical hub in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province have left at least five people wounded, with Iranian media warning of a possible rise in casualties.Citing a provincial official, Iranian agencies reported that U.S.-Israeli strikes hit the Special Petrochemical Zone in Mahshahr on Saturday. Deputy governor Valiollah Hayati said explosions were heard across the complex, with at least three companies in the zone impacted.Hayati said five people were injured in the attack, though it was not immediately clear if there were any fatalities. He added that the full extent of the damage remains unknown.Earlier, Fars news agency reported multiple explosions at the Mahshahr facility, while Iran’s ISNA news agency flagged a “high chance” of casualties from the strikes.Separately, Mehr news agency reported that the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex , also located in Khuzestan province, was targeted by air attacks, with some sections sustaining damage.The strikes mark a further escalation in the ongoing conflict in West Asia, with critical energy infrastructure in Iran coming under attack.
