56 killed after strong storm, rain lashes parts of Uttar Pradesh; CM Yogi orders relief

A strong storm accompanied by heavy rain caused widespread damage in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, resulting in at least 56 deaths. The districts affected include Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Bhadohi, Fatehpur, Unnao, Kanpur Dehat, Chandauli, Sonbhadra and Badaun. The state government has not released consolidated figures for casualties and is in the process of gathering information to announce compensation accordingly.
