Tensions in West Asia show little sign of easing, with Iran signalling it is prepared for further retaliation despite a fragile ceasefire with the United States. The country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that its “hand is on the trigger,” underscoring readiness to respond swiftly to any fresh aggression.Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they are “ready to respond to any attack with more force,” Reuters reported, citing Tasnim News Agency.The warning comes after Iran launched missile and drone strikes on Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, following earlier attacks on its own energy infrastructure. According to Iranian state television, the strikes were carried out shortly after air raids targeted oil facilities on Lavan Island."Missile and drone attacks on the Emirates and Kuwait have taken place a few hours after the targeting of Lavan island oil facilities in Iran," Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.State media also cited the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, which described the strike on the facility as deliberate, saying it “was subjected to a cowardly attack.”The reported strike on the Lavan oil refinery occurred at around 10 am local time, marking a sharp escalation involving critical energy infrastructure.The developments have drawn concern from Kuwait, which has called for an immediate halt to hostilities. In an official statement, Kuwait’s foreign ministry welcomed the ceasefire but urged restraint. "The need for the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies... to immediately cease all hostilities."
