Govt mulls sending surplus rice as aid to conflict-hit Iran

The government is considering allowing wheat export to Egypt, Indonesia, and Myanmar due to surplus stock. Shipments of rice may start for countries including Iran on humanitarian grounds. A high-level meeting in the PMO took note of the excess stock and options are being explored to export more wheat, rice, and onions by ships or air to countries in need.
