China says it will resume some ties with Taiwan including more direct flights

China has signalled easing tensions with Taiwan by restoring limited ties, including direct flights and aquaculture imports. The Taiwan Work Office under China's Communist Party has issued a statement announcing the resumption of direct flights to cities across China and imports of Taiwanese aquaculture products. China also plans to set up a communication mechanism between the Communist Party and Taiwan's Kuomingtang Party and facilitate the import of Taiwan's aquaculture products.
