Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to present the State’s budget for FY 2026-27 in the Legislative Assembly on Friday (March 20, 2026). The State Cabinet meeting on the budget, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, has begun.
Mr. Vikramarka, who holds the Finance portfolio, is expected to walk a tightrope as he presents the budget for the next financial year. The total outlay for the current year 2025-26 was ₹3.04 lakh crore and the budget for 2026-27 is likely to see an increase of about 7%, taking the outlay to around ₹3.2 lakh crore.

Speaking at the Telugu New Year Ugadi celebrations at the State Congress headquarters in Hyderabad, Mr. Vikramarka said he hoped that all sectors in the State would achieve significant growth and the youth of Telangana would receive excellent employment opportunities.
The Congress government had allocated over ₹56,000 crore in the previous budget for implementing the party’s ‘six poll guarantees’, while expecting to raise ₹64,000 crore through open market loans.
