Lockie Ferguson is set to miss the initial few games of the Punjab Kings in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The New Zealand pacer, who has just become a father, will be spending some time with his family before flying down to India.
"Just had a wee son. Trying to spend as much time as I can at home and help the wife out... I’ll have a few weeks off after this, before sort of heading to the later stages of the IPL and away for the winter,” Ferguson was quoted as saying before the third T20I against South Africa
The 34-year-old had taken a short paternity leave during the 2026 T20 World Cup but could spend only a little time with his family, given he had to rejoin the Black Caps for the Super Eights.
Other than Ferguson, PBKS has a host of pace bowling options to look at with Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Ben Dwarshuis, Yash Thakur, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Marcus Stoinis to pick from.
