The legislation adds to a $140bn the agencies received as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a tax-and-spending bill passed by Congress. ICE and CBP fall under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which has faced criticism for using tactics such as racial profiling and warrantless house searches.
