Ajit Agarkar’s contract not renewed? BCCI issues official statement on the matter

Ajit Agarkar's contract as India National Cricket Team's Chief Selector has been renewed for another year. This decision was reportedly made to ensure continuity for the 2027 ODI World Cup. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla stated that such decisions are taken by the board's management, keeping the larger interests of Indian cricket in mind. Agarkar's contract renewal is not an extension, as he can continue up to four years in either junior or senior selection committee.
