Annamalai joined BJP because Rajinikanth didn't form party: Congress leader

Congress MP Karthi Chidambaram said former Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai may have joined the BJP because Tamil superstar Rajinikanth did not launch a political outfit. Annamalai has resigned from the BJP and launched his own political movement against cult politics, which he said would eventually turn into a political party. Chidambaram called Annamalai's move gutsy, stating that the BJP has very limited acceptance in Tamil Nadu and is not the right vehicle for someone who wants to move ahead in politics.
