Apple’s Cal AI crackdown signals it’s still policing the App Store

Apple has enforced its App Store rules by removing the Cal AI food-logging app, which attempted to skirt in-app purchase guidelines and employed manipulative tactics. The app had bypassed Apple's in-app purchase flow by using a third-party service and removed IAP as an option for users during checkout. Apple also cited deceptive billing practices, in violation of its guidelines, before the app returned to the App Store after addressing the issues.
