As Election Nears, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass Offers Short-Term Cuts in Film Production Fees

L.A. Mayor Karen Bass has unveiled a six-month pilot program to reduce fees for "low-impact" film productions. The program will waive a $285 fee for spot checks by the L.A. Fire Department and offer a $581 discount on permit fees for certain productions. Eligible productions will pay $350 for up to three days and three locations, and all productions will receive a 20% discount on parking at city lots for a year.
