‘Bar has much to offer’: CJI shares anecdote as he dismisses lawyer’s plea for revaluation

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant shared a personal anecdote in court while dismissing a plea by judicial aspirant Prerna Gupta. He recalled being discouraged from joining judicial services early in his career and advised to focus on future opportunities instead of contesting a single exam result. The CJI shared his own experience of being rebuked by a high court judge who told him "the bar is waiting for you" when he aspired to become a judicial officer.
