Black panther to return to Vizag zoo after 40 years; formal release on April 21

A female black panther will be released into an enclosure at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam. The panther was brought from the Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden in Guwahati under an inter-zoo exchange programme. This marks the end of a 40-year gap since the species was last on display at the zoo. The formal release will be done at the park.
