Bombay HC upholds acquittal of 22 persons Sohrabuddin Shaikh fake encounter case

The Bombay High Court has dismissed an appeal filed by Rubabuddin Shaikh, challenging the acquittal of 22 people, including several police personnel from Gujarat and Rajasthan, accused of kidnapping and killing his brother Sohrabuddin Shaikh and wife in an alleged staged encounter. The court upheld the acquittal, stating that no case was made out for interfering with the trial court verdict. The case dates back to November 2005, when Sohrabuddin Shaikh, his wife, and associate were allegedly abducted by police officers from Gujarat and Rajasthan.
