Brigadier, his son assaulted by men in south Delhi for objecting to drinking near their home

A serving Indian Army brigadier and his son were allegedly assaulted by a group in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Enclave on Friday.

NEW DELHI: A serving Indian Army brigadier and his son were allegedly assaulted by a group in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Enclave on Friday.Sources said the incident occurred after they objected to two men drinking inside a car near their residence.The incident was reported around 10pm in the Vasant Enclave area.A complaint has been filed in this regard. Police said the matter is under investigation.The Indian Army, in a statement, said, “The authorities in the Indian Army have taken serious cognisance of the case. A Military Police team has been directed to assist the officer. The Delhi Police has been approached to carry out an expeditious investigation and take action on priority.”
