Centre weighs fuel price hikes, WFH mandates

The Centre is considering austerity measures to conserve energy, including possible increases in retail prices of petrol and diesel to reduce consumption. Work-from-home for up to 50% of an organisation's employees is also being considered. The measures aim to conserve energy and reduce the financial burden on state-run oil marketing companies, which purchase costly crude oil from the international market and sell refined petroleum products at lower domestic prices.
