Contractual hospital worker held for rape inside K’taka hospital

A contractual Group-D employee at a Bagalkot hospital in Karnataka has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman who was staying at the facility to care for her brother. The woman had been staying at the hospital for nearly a month and came into contact with the accused, who allegedly threatened her and dragged her into a washroom where he sexually assaulted her. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
