Critical seats vacant as State government concludes hiring of 433 Assistant Professor posts

A severe shortage of specialist doctors has left many positions vacant in several critical medical specialties in government medical colleges. Four super-specialty departments, including Transfusion Medicine, Neurology, Pediatric Surgery, and Nephrology, failed to secure a single qualifying applicant, leaving all advertised posts vacant. Additionally, 67 out of 106 available vacancies in five general specialties remained unfilled, with many positions vacant in departments like Physiology, Anatomy, Community Medicine, Microbiology, and Pathology.
