Delhi under red alert as IMD warns of thunderstorms, lightning and winds gusting up to 80 kmph

Delhi has been placed under a red alert due to the India Meteorological Department's warning of moderate thunderstorms, lightning and squally winds reaching 60-70 kmph, gusting up to 80 kmph. Very light to light rain is likely at most places, while isolated areas may receive moderate rainfall. Officials advise people to remain indoors during thunderstorms, avoid taking shelter under trees and stay away from electric poles and waterlogged areas.
