Don’t limit Basava Jayanti celebrations to Lingayat community alone, says MLC

A social reformer's philosophy is being used as a basis for a more inclusive celebration of Basava Jayanti. MLC Thippannappa Kamaknoor has appealed to the Basava Jayanti Utsav Samiti to broaden its representation by including leaders from diverse communities. This is to reflect the inclusive philosophy of Basaveshwara, a 12th century social reformer. The celebration should transcend community boundaries, not remain confined to the Lingayat community alone.
