Dukono Volcano, Indonesia

Dukono, a volcano on the Indonesian island of Halmahera, has been continuously erupting since 1933. The volcano's summit is denuded due to nearly-constant activity, and frequent ashfall has stunted vegetation on its slopes. Recent ash plumes from Dukono reached altitudes of 200-3,000 meters. The volcano is one of over 100 active volcanoes in Indonesia, with nearby Ibu volcano also emitting ash plumes and featuring a recent lava flow.
