FAPTO hunger strike enters second day in Vijayawada

Leaders of the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Teachers' Organisations (FAPTO) are on a hunger strike at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada. They have warned that they will intensify their agitation if the government fails to respond to their demands. The hunger strike is part of the organisation's second phase of protest, with 17 demands including the constitution of the 12th Pay Revision Commission and release of pending Dearness Allowance installments.
