Flag row: German parliament marks International Day against Homophobia

A rainbow flag is flying over the German parliament building in Berlin to mark the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia. This day also marks the anniversary of the rehabilitation of homosexuals persecuted by the Nazis, as per a resolution passed by parliament. The decision to fly the rainbow flag was made to maintain parliamentary neutrality, with the German flag representing freedom, human dignity, and equality before the law.
