Gaza flotilla activists deported from Israel after week-long detention

Brazilian activist Thiago Avila and fellow activist Saif Abu Keshek, who were detained aboard the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla, have been released from Ashkelon's Shikma detention facility. They were handed over to the immigration authority and deported to an undisclosed location. The pair had been on hunger strike since their detention and were held under harsh conditions and isolation, according to the Adalah Center. Their detention was claimed to be a violation of international law.
