Gaza holds first local elections in 20 Years

Thousands of Palestinians voted in municipal elections in Gaza for the first time in 20 years, with voting limited to Deir al-Balah. The Palestinian Central Elections Commission reported over 1.3 million eligible voters across the territories. Polling stations opened at 7:00 a.m. local time, with voting continuing until 5:00 p.m. in Deir al-Balah and until 7:00 p.m. in the West Bank. The elections cover 183 local bodies in the Palestinian territories.
