German couple jailed in Spain after children kept in 'house of horror'

A German couple has been sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison in Spain for locking their three children in a "house of horror" filled with rubbish. The couple was found guilty of psychological abuse and negligence, although they were acquitted of unlawful detention. The children, who were severely neglected and malnourished, were freed after a neighbour alerted the police, and were found dirty, in their pyjamas, and wearing nappies and face masks.
