German passengers from hantavirus-hit Hondius head to Frankfurt

Rescue vehicles from Essen and Frankfurt have left Eindhoven Airport to transport German passengers from the cruise ship Hondius, affected by a hantavirus outbreak, to Frankfurt. The passengers will be taken to their respective German states for quarantine, with local health authorities in charge of the measures. A plane from Tenerife had earlier landed in Eindhoven carrying passengers and crew members from the Hondius, who were medically examined at the airport before being taken home or to Frankfurt for further treatment.
