Germany hits 30 degrees for the first time this year

Germany recorded temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius for the first time this year. The south-western state of Baden-Württemberg saw the highest temperatures, with 31.5 degrees recorded in Waghäusel-Kirrlach and Heidelberg. Temperatures of 31 degrees were also recorded in Neunkirchen-Wellesweiler in Saarland and Duisburg-Baerl in North Rhine-Westphalia. Temperatures are forecast to rise further in some regions in the coming days, with highs of up to 34 degrees possible in the Upper Rhine region.
