Girl told to remove ‘mala’ during NEET, probe on

A Hindu girl was allegedly asked to remove her 'Tulsi Kanthi mala' before appearing for the NEET-UG exam at an exam centre in Surat's Amroli. The incident is being termed as "wrong" and "unacceptable" by the National Testing Agency, which had clarified that candidates are allowed to wear articles of faith subject to reporting at the centre in advance. The agency will probe the matter and take appropriate action.
