Govt notifies 100 pc FDI in insurance sector under automatic route

The Finance Ministry has notified 100 per cent foreign direct investment in the insurance sector under the automatic route, allowing overseas investors full ownership in insurance companies and intermediaries. However, the cap for Life Insurance Corporation remains at 20 per cent.
