GST e-way bill generation rises nearly 11 per cent in May

E-way bill generation under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime rose nearly 11 per cent year-on-year to 136.08 million in May, reflecting strong trade activity. This marks the fourth-highest monthly e-way bill generation since the implementation of GST, indicating sustained momentum in the movement of goods across the country and strengthening tax compliance trends. The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has introduced key reforms to improve compliance, strengthen reporting requirements and enhance transaction tracking.
