HC recalls order setting aside Centre's decision refusing to convert Wire founder's PIO status to OCI

The Delhi High Court has recalled its order setting aside the Centre's decision to reject The Wire founding editor's plea for converting his Person of Indian Origin status to Overseas Citizen of India. The court found the journalist guilty of suppressing material facts, including a 2020 Allahabad High Court order that granted him anticipatory bail with conditions. The court has restored the writ petition and asked the journalist to file an affidavit explaining his conduct within seven working days.
