Illegal sex determination tests in Mandya: DC issues directions for inspections of all scanning centres in district

A Committee has been constituted by the Deputy Commissioner of Mandya to inspect all prenatal diagnostic centres in the district. This move comes after Lokayukta police uncovered illegal foetal sex determination at two private centres in K R Pet town. The Deputy Commissioner has instructed officials to take action against those violating rules under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act.
