In rare push, US lawmakers demand transparency on Israel nuclear capability

A group of Democrats in the US Congress has called on the State Department to break the US government's silence on Israel's nuclear capabilities. They pointed to the US-Israel war on Iran as the reason for greater clarity. The lawmakers, in a letter, asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio for information on Israel's nuclear capabilities, including its warheads, launchers, enrichment capabilities, and nuclear doctrine. They believe a policy of official ambiguity makes coherent nonproliferation policy in the Middle East impossible.
