‘Janivara’ row: BJP demands stern action

BJP has termed incidents of boys being allegedly made to remove their 'janivara' before entering the exam hall as an insult to religious sentiments. The party demanded immediate arrest of those responsible. Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok took a boy and his parents to the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner's office to pressure the police to register a case. The police were initially reluctant but agreed after Ashok's intervention with the DG&IGP and the Commissioner.
