Japan’s Pokémon travel trend flies high with new themed airport

The Noto Satoyama Airport in Japan's Ishikawa prefecture is undergoing renovation and will be renamed the "Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport". The airport, which operates flights to and from Tokyo Haneda International Airport, will feature Pokémon-themed attractions and events. A Pikachu will be displayed at the atrium, surrounded by species inspired by birds, insects, and dragons. The airport aims to attract tourists and bring smiles to children affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake. Themed food and merchandise will be available at the airport.
