JioStar seeks Rs 250 million in alleged Bollywood film rights dispute with Zee Entertainment: Report

JioStar has initiated legal proceedings against Zee Entertainment over alleged unauthorised broadcast of several Bollywood films whose rights are reportedly held by JioStar. The company has filed a plea before the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee, seeking mediation and dispute resolution. JioStar has accused Zee of broadcasting 12 distinct Bollywood films without authorisation, describing the broadcaster as a "habitual infringer". The dispute over film rights dates back to exchanges of legal notices and letters between the two companies.
