K. K. Shailaja’s political shift: From Mattannur stronghold to Peravoor battleground

K. K. Shailaja, a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), is contesting the Kerala assembly elections from Peravoor. She is a former Health Minister of Kerala, known for her leadership during major public health crises, including the Nipah virus outbreak and the COVID-19 pandemic. Shailaja was born in Kannur district, Kerala, and grew up in a politically conscious environment, shaping her ideological leanings from an early age. She is contesting against Adv. Sunny Joseph of the Indian National Congress, who currently represents Peravoor in the assembly.
