Karnataka internal quota: Cabinet clears sub-classification within 15% for Scheduled Castes

The Karnataka Congress government has announced a matrix for internal reservation among Scheduled Castes. The matrix allocates 5.25% to Category 1 (Madigas and allied castes/Dalit left) and Category 2 (Holeyas and allied castes/Dalit right), and 4.5% to Category 3 (Bhovi, Lambani, Korama, Koracha and 59 nomadic communities) within the 15% reservation for SCs. This move aims to restart the stalled recruitment process.
