Macron says still sees France, Germany developing European fighter jet

French President Macron denied the European FCAS warplane programme was dead, stating that Paris and Berlin are still working on it along with other defence projects. Macron and German Chancellor Merz instructed their defence ministries to continue work on various topics, including the fighter jet, after morning talks. The FCAS programme was launched to replace France's Rafale jets and the Eurofighter planes used by Germany and Spain.
