Manipur panel yet to submit probe findings on 2023 clashes

A Commission of Inquiry, tasked to investigate ethnic clashes in Manipur, has missed four deadlines and is still collecting evidence. The panel was set up to probe the cause and lapses that triggered the violence, which killed at least 270 people. The Commission has received thousands of statements from people on both sides and is yet to summon key officials, including the then police chief, chief secretary, and chief minister, who were in charge of the state when the clashes began.
